Metroprojekt Sp. z o.o.

Metroprojekt Sp. z o.o.

is a company with a 70-year history of designing buildings, transport infrastructure, railway installations and systems, and the underground.

The company’s experience is underpinned by the work it has carried out for the Warsaw Underground. In total, the company has produced several dozen designs, based on which the first Metro line and part of the stations and tunnels of Line 2 were built. In the 1980s, Metroprojekt acquired and implemented new technologies in Poland – metro systems. It is currently acquiring and implementing the High-Speed Rail system in Poland, carrying out projects for its three key components.

Metroprojekt was the first company in Poland to obtain a building permit for the High-Speed Rail system – the tunnel in Łódź, which is the most advanced element of the system in terms of implementation. Another component is the development of the route from Warsaw towards Łódź as part of the ‘Y’ line. The project covers over 60 km of railway line with a maximum speed of 350 km/h, including a 10-kilometre tunnel to be constructed beneath Warsaw using TBM technology, with a design speed of 250 km/h. Metroprojekt is also the leader of the consortium preparing the design concept for the 2x25kV power supply system, including its interface with the National Power System. This will be the target system for the High-Speed Rail Network (KDP) and the main power supply system for the entire railway network in Poland.

Metroprojekt’s solutions are based on an interdisciplinary approach to projects and on a team comprising specialists with many years of experience. Metroprojekt offers the preparation of comprehensive design documentation for railway traffic management and control systems. It has an experienced design and expert team specialising in computer and relay systems, interfaces and the integration of various types of equipment. It has a track record in the field of bespoke and specialised solutions used, for example, at stations and industrial sidings, on light rail and metro systems. By collaborating with research and development units, it develops the latest trends and technologies relating to the ETCS system, interface standardisation, BIM technology and automation in design, as well as cybersecurity.
